The company recently signed a contract for a BOG He/H₂ extraction system based on 1 million cubic meters/day of natural gas liquefaction, with installation and commissioning targeted before June 2023. Unlike the conventional catalytic dehydrogenation-then-drying approach, this system is the first to use a specialty material to achieve near-perfect separation of hydrogen and helium, yielding hydrogen and helium products both above 99.999% vol. The hydrogen can be used in semiconductor, hydrogen energy, and chemical applications, while the helium is broadly applicable across many fields.
This new helium extraction system avoids oxidative combustion and catalytic processes, offering higher safety. By eliminating the active addition of oxygen, it avoids impurities introduced by impure oxygen, ensuring the final purity of the helium product. It also shows exceptional tolerance to upstream composition fluctuations, offering higher reliability, and since hydrogen is not oxidized during the process, it yields a high-value, high-purity hydrogen product as well.
